11th Training Academy on Cultural Routes (4-7 June 2024)

Brindisi, Italy

The 11th edition of the Training Academy on Cultural Routes will take place in Brindisi, Italy, from 4th to 7th June 2024, organised by the European Institute of the Cultural Routes (EICR) and the European Association of the Via Francigena Ways (EAVF), carrier network of the Via Francigena (certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe since 1994), with the support of the Apulia region and the city of Brindisi, and in cooperation with the association “Brindisi e le Antiche Strade”.

The theme of the Training Academy 2024 will be “European cooperation and sustainable development”. The event will be held in English.

Participation is limited to representatives of the 47 certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe only. A dedicated invitation containing the link to access the registration form will be sent to certified Cultural Routes presidents and managers. Each route can select up to 2 (two) representatives to attend the event.

Despite being an invitation-only event, the proceedings of the Training Academy will be disseminated on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe website following the event for all interested stakeholders.

  • Session 1 -Panel on the walking routes among the certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
  • Session 2 – European Projects

13.30-15.00 Inauguration of the Training Academy (“F. Ribezzo” Auditorium Museum)

15.00-18.00 Work sessions (Statio Peregrinorum of the Accademia degli Erranti):

  • Session 3 – Working Group on “Cooperation”
  • Session 4 – Panel on cooperation between the European Association of the Via Francigena Ways members and key stakeholders

18:30 Guided tour of the “F. Ribezzo” Archaeological Museum
