Benefits

Become a HCR member

Learn about the benefits of joining our international network for the promotion of Historic Cafes Route around the world:

Access to experts worldwide, to work together towards common goals for the protection and promotion of the Historic Cafes. Members meet once a year for the General Assembly to exchange ideas and strategies about the Route

Since 2014, the Route established important contacts at European & international level. The network has made strong relationships between members and EU Institutions, as well as with other European Cultural Routes, Associations, academics and experts linked to heritage, tourism, culture etc

HCR aims at establishing Historic Cafes as an element of intangible heritage at international level. Historic Cafes are currently considered as intangible cultural values in Greece and in Austria, by order of the ministries of Culture and UNESCO. Italy has also embarked on a similar effort, which will lead us to our next step, the international recognition of Historic Cafes as an important element of intangible heritage worldwide. Such development will protect Historic Cafes, while providing an opportunity for promotion and financial assistance though the relevant funds.

The HCR shall make every effort to guarantee that Historic Cafes will speak with a more audible and resonant voice when dealing with decision making bodies at national, European and global level, to guarantee the protection of European traditions and cultural heritage.

Cooperation is the key for success and, since 2014, HCR has been trying to organize common events to strengthen the bonds between the Historic Cafes’ members. Culture, arts, heritage, have always been at the core of each event. All members of the HCR are welcome to suggest and propose ideas for common events & projects.

The HCR is a prestigious Route, recognized internationally, present in international events, fora, seminars, etc. The HCR label is an added value for all members, as it gives them visibility and publicity through the official website, social media, publications etc both at European and international level

The HCR is already included in national sightseeing lists and aims to further develop its prestigious label by creating a unique product and rank high among tourist destinations internationally. HCR can and will work on the touristic development of European cities by promoting local gastronomy, traditions and heritage.
