Romania is the 14th country participating in the “Historic Cafes Route” and has Historic Cafes. The Founder and President of EHICA Vassilis Stathakis welcomed the Association one of the most unique Historic Cafes in Romania, the Café housed at Brukenthal Castle in Arvig, Romania. With a history dating back to 1788, the Cafe was once the favorite place where the king and his guests enjoyed their … coffee! Indeed, the king, a coffee lover himself, had arranged to cultivate his favorite varieties of coffee in the splendid palace garden! The second Historic Cafe from Romania “Festival ’39” in Brasov, is an amazing place decorated with items of the past centuries. With the new Cafes, EHICA’s members are now 60, while the countries in which the Historic Cafes Route” crosses are 14.
The Founder and President of EHICA, Vasilis Stathakis was in Romania to participate in the 9th International Advisory Forum “Cultural Routes” of the Council of Europe held in Sibiu, Romania, 2-4 October 2019 in order to present the 10th International Advisory Forum “Cultural Routes” of the Council of Europe to be held in Chania 7 -9 October 2020.
