Brukenthal Palace Café (est. 1788)

Avrig, Romania

Located in Avrig, Romania, Brukenthal Historic Café was inaugurated in 1788.

The Café is in front of a fine orange tree garden, a stunning place where kings used to dine and drink coffee with their fine guests. Indeed, there is written evidence that the most fine varieties of coffee were also cultivated in the garden, so that kings always enjoyed the best blends.

The video of “The coffee of the baron Samuel Von Brukenthal” was shot at Brukenthal National Museum in Sibiu.

The Baroque-style Café is a jewel in the Carpathians, a part of the huge palace and is constantly hosting various cultural events. Due to the particularity of the space, it recently hosted a fashion show. During summer, guests can enjoy their coffee in the enchanting garden, while in winter they can relax at the indoor café space.
