To Historic Cafés Route

I would like to announce my candidacy for the Board of Directors at Historic Cafés Routes.

I am the owner of Conditori La Glace in Copenhagen a café and cake palace that dates back to 1870. Today an international icon on the world scene of cakes.

I have a vision of HCR becoming the glue between old café-institutions. To get us connected so we can learn from each other and maybe make partnerships in different events across the borders. Maybe we could on a certain time serve a special Greek cake – maybe one of our confectioners could go to Portugal and work at an old pastry shop. Maybe we could all have focus on a certain point of a special coffee bean or an exhibition to emphasize the importance over the years the cafés have had – and still has – on being a place to visit to exchange views and opinions. To discuss – the basic need in a democracy.

I am also aware that HCR cannot solve any political challenges in each country, nor can they save cafés there are threatened with closure. We can make awareness of different issues – but there must be no money involved. All membership money should alone be used to take care of the administration.

If we make arrangements the costs should be covered by the involved members – If it is not possible to get a sponsorship.
